SUMMARY:Go Figure: Wisconsin Artists Southeast Chapter Juried Exhibition
DESCRIPTION: OPENS FRI. MAR. 8TH\, 2024 5-7:30PM\n\n\nThe theme of this show is Go Figure! Is it figurative? Is it about perplexity\, confusion\, surprise\, or puzzlement? Is it figuratively speaking; or metaphorical? How does it all add up? “Go Figure” is jured by Mary Tilton and Jayne Reid Jackson. \nAbout the Judges: MARY TILTON is a watercolor artist with curiosity about the world and how things work. A “maker” at heart\, her curiosity has led her to study art in all its forms and practices. She limits her art practice to watercolor as a means of focus and has shown her work both locally and in national juried exhibitions. She continually pursues technical knowledge to support increasingly expressive artwork. After retirement from a creative technical management career\, Mary became free to explore the open network of art and artists. She has held a variety of positions in the Madison Watercolor Society\, the Arts Alliance. JAYNE REID JACKSON\, A Wisconsin native\, Jayne grew up in Milwaukee and Port Washington. She currently works out of her home studio in Madison and is known internationally for her mezzotint work. Her mezzotints are accepted into national and international print exhibitions\, both juried and invitational\, and included in public collections in the US and Internationally. She is a member of several print societies and exhibits regularly in their exhibitions. \nAbout the Wisconsin Visual Artists: The Wisconsin Visual Artists began in the year 1900 as the first professional association of artists in Wisconsin\, and has continued for 123 years as an educational\, supportive\, and connective force for artists within the state. WVA offers a community and a support system to artists at any stage in their career. Because the organization is run by artists for artists\, we are dedicated to the well-being and fair treatment of Wisconsin artists through the forging of creative partnerships\, exhibition opportunities\, monthly meetings\, publications\, programming\, arts advocacy\, and more. \nWVA hosts many exhibitions each year\, and partners with the Museum of Wisconsin Art to execute the Wisconsin Artist Biennial.
